ABOUT ME

Hello!

My name is Amy and I am so glad you’re here. I wish I could personally welcome you with a handshake or hug and tell you all about me, but for now the web will have to suffice.  Grab a cup of coffee (because that’s certainly what I would be drinking if we were in person!) and browse away.  Then, send me an email with any questions you might have and I’d love to answer.

How I Got Started

I grew up with photography and it was a fairly prominent part of my childhood.  I photographed all kinds of subjects and after high school went to the University of Akron and studied art.  There were many sleepless nights in the darkroom but it wasn’t until my oldest was born (over a decade ago!) that I began my career in professional photography.  I began with portrait sessions which soon grew into weddings and then commercial work as well.

Certification

In 2011 I studied for and received my Certification.  Only 8% of the world’s photographers have gone through & passed this testing and portfolio review.  Think of it like the Bar for photographers.

I always want my portfolio and work to speak for itself, but I will jump in here to tell you that I am good at what I do. I am good at photography and all the technical aspects but I am also good at anticipating needs and providing answers before the questions have even been asked.  I am efficient and effective.  Most of all, I will work my butt off to make sure you get photos that you absolutely love.  (Am I allowed to say butt in an about me page?)

IN MY FREE TIME

In my free time I love spending time with my family.  I am so blessed to have a great husband and three wonderful kids.  We can typically be found running from one sporting event to another or chasing the baby around a ballpark.  I have learned the art of throwing together a (somewhat) healthy dinner at 8 pm, waking up early, brewing a pot of coffee and doing it all again.  I love being a mom and a photographer and I work every day at getting that balance just right.

Take a look around and I hope you like what you see.  Get in touch by calling me at 330-990-3653 or email amy@amylynphotography.com.  Let’s set up a time to discuss your photography needs.
